Happy Birthday Wanyi!
Wee~~ 9th Feb was our Da Jie, wanwan's birthday! hahax.. Before heading to meet the birthday gal, zinc and I were busy walking around to buy stuffs.. Thinking that we had alot of time, we strolled around Marina Square abit before buying the things.. After a while, we finally walked to Mini Toons to get the birthday card.. Before buying the cake, it suddenly occur to us that we should get a lighter.. hahax.. If not gotta borrow from dunno who le.. Hurrily, we went to the Carrefour @ Suntec to buy the lighter.. It was then that we realized we forgot to buy the cake! Alamak~ Luckily the same cake shop was spotted by zinc near Carrefour.. hahax.. We then found ourselves a bench at Suntec to write the card and do watever we needed to do before meeting the Shou-Xing-Po..The pressie, cake and the loving card!
Inside the card~~
While waiting for yun's reply, zinc suggested that we should 'decorate' the cake box since we had plenty of time.. hahax.. And so I did!Due to the influence of the delicious-looking pix of the food in Sushi Tei (posted by yunyun), we'd decided to go there for a feast to celebrate the joyous occasion..
The birthday gal's curry rice~

Zinc's Udon~

My Bento set~

And then we shared this sushi roll which we, unanimously, felt it was a great roll!

Zinc's posting with the rather difficult-to-pick-up Sushi~

Both wanyi and zinc going to take their first mouth of the sushi~

Errr.. Do I need to explain wat happened in this pic? hahax..

Prize presentation to wanyi.. (Note: Zinc looked abit like Ms Tan SH from this pic!) hahax~

The candle and our Da-Jie! (Errr.. The lighter that we purposely went Carrefour to buy was not working.. It ended up we had to ask the waitress in the restaurant to 'lend us fire'.. '''-_-)

Well.. The meal at Sushi Tei was really a full and fulfiling one.. Too bad von and yun were not able to join us.. I guess it'll be much fun-ner if the sisters were all present.. Anyway, we had a great time together on Saturday! Hope wanwan likes the pressie and our little celebration with her!

Mood-less New Year
*Warning!!! Long post ahead!!!*
Overworked is the word to explain my lack of updates. School is driving me nuts with endless piles of books and worksheets to be mark and endless work piling on my to-do-list. If only there are more than 24 hours in a day...
Frankly speaking, I would rather stay at home and rest for the entire New Year holidays. That's how mentally and physically drained I am. And frankly for me, New Year doesn't hold much meaning to me this year and I myself wonder why. On the New Year's Eve night, we're supposed to "Shou Sui" but yours truly was so tired that I knock off at 1130pm. (cos school starts at 710am for New Year celebration that day...) And that was the earliest time that I managed to go to bed for almost 2 weeks since for the past weeks I've been marking workbooks and preparing materials for the next day's lesson till around 1plus to 2am every single day.
Well, maybe because I've started working and thus is not so enthusiastic about going round to collect ang baos. Another reason could be because age is catching up on me and I really dislike seeing those relatives when they will start asking you questions like "Got boyfriend anot? Graduate liao ah? Doing what job now? When getting married?" and the list goes on. Pardon me for my negativity on the second day of Chinese New Year. I do hope you gals and GUY (haha) are indulging in this festive season and enjoying yourself to the maximum! =)
Alright, enough of complaints. Photos galore to show u ppl how I spent my past 3 weeks. =)
The Central @ Clarke Quay

I heart Clarke Quay. I love sitting by the river, enjoying the breeze. A relaxing evening indeed.

Dinner at the famous Marutama ramen restaurant. Their ramen is really finger-licking good and its really authentic Jap ramen. Their egg is like our "ru gan" but its 10x more yummylicious! Slurps.

Dinner was followed by chilling out session at Coffee Club with a great view of the river.
This is random but i couldn't resist taking a photo with it when I saw it...Presenting to you a GIANT ____________

STAPLER!!!
I dunno whether you ppl have seen such a BIG stapler before but its my first time seeing it and its like so many times bigger than my hand! Can anyone tell me who would use such a big stapler???
Hee okie, back to the main point. Think I showed u ppl of my desk at the start of the year so just to show u ppl after a month, what my desk looks like now...

There it is...with so many stacks of worksheets and books to mark everyday. Even after typing this post, I'll be going to continue marking again (Yes, I bought home one big bag of things to mark)...CNY is just a time for teachers to catch up on markings!
Then, 29th January was one of my good friend in school, Mrs Quek's last day in school. Yea she is retiring and is now officially a half-a-million richer, thanks to the govt's pension scheme.
So the 3 of us gave her a treat after school as a form of celebration. Its nice going out with colleagues after work to chill out, gossiping about the other teachers heh...
@ Mrs Singh's house after dinner
Haha my mum's reaction when she saw this photo is "Why all so old one? All can be your mother liao!" Hee to which I replied, "These are all the good ppl in school, young ones all so scheming and waiting to see you fall!"
And this is 100% true. To think that teachers are supposed to be role models. The other teachers are all basically doing their own stuff, ignoring you if ur a small fry in school and always secretly hoping that "your class will have more failures in the test than my class".
At PS last weekend
@ my favourite store: DAISO!
Hee i always have endless things to buy from Daiso and most of the time its not buying for myself, its for my class, my students.
The calamari rings is soooooo nice!
Then on the eve of CNY eve, i finally got to meet up with my bestie, amanda. Haven seen this gal for the longest time!

Yummylicious pan-fried macaroni!
With the gal who claims she wasn't in the top form that day to be photographed...
Aniwae, manda told me after she graduates this sem, she maybe going to Perth to do a postgrad diploma in clinical psychology, followed by masters in it. So she may be gone for 4 to 5 years. If thats the case, I'll be real sad since there's no one to do crazy things like exploring S'pore with me, playing monopoly at her house or going Pasar Malam to play those kiddy games anymore. =(
Chinese New Year Eve
My family has the tradition of eating reunion dinner several days before the actual CNY eve since during CNY eve, my parents will be eating "zhai". So this year CNY eve, i went for dinner with wc and his family at a restaurant @ Yishun Safra.

The guy in black is not his brother, is her sis' bf. Haha.
Aniwae, the service was pretty bad cos they will serve a few dishes at one go then stops for quite some time before serving the next dish. Many customers were throwing temper and one ah-gong even bang the table to ask why his food is not here yet. We had to wait around half an hour before the last dish before dessert, cheese lobster, was served to us. Haha and wc even asked the waitress, "They are still catching the lobster issit???"
Hee of course after that I did rush home to eat abit with my family, though i was really pretty full by then.
Yesterday night, I went to watch my idol 's new show, CJ7!
Its sooooo funny! Haha altho Stephen chow is not the one acting as the "clown", the show was still great and i couldn't stop laughing! I would recommend all of u to go watch it. Presenting my favourite character of the show:
The gentle GIANT! Haha go watch it and u'll understand why she's my favourite character. =P
Nevertheless, I still miss Stephen Chow's previous movies.
Gotta go catch up on my markings now. Hope it won't be another 3 weeks before I update again! =)
