Finally Saturday came
Alright, enough of complaints from my previous post. On a happier note, the only thing that prevents me from going into depression mode on thurs and fri is the thought of getting my pay on sat and going to Sushi Tei for a great meal again! Pictures to replace words now.

Then its off to esplanade to chill out. (A much-needed one after the crazy thurs and fri)

I think my tiredness from the gruelling 2 days of "war" is evident on my face.

I always like to end off a great meal with a great dessert. Haagen Dazs ice-cream are yummy though i think the mango sorbet dun really goes well with hot chocolate fudge. Urps.

Whats with getting my pay without indulging in woman's favourite hobby? My loots of the day:

Heh sorry gals, i gotta get a new wallet cos the one u gals gave me is really too heavy. With all the worksheets and stuff occupying space in my bag everyday, i gotta get a lighter wallet to balance it off. Lurve my heart-shaped earrings and its a gift from my dearest. Heh cos he's in a good mood too since his bank account just increased by 1k, courtesy of his father getting $xxxxx for bonus.

But! nothing can beat my excitement when i saw this. I have been waiting for it since last May and have been searching high and low for it for quite some time now. Presenting to you...

Sammi Show Mi 2007 Concert DVD!
Finally, i found it! Previously i was tricked into buying the cd version thinking that it was the dvd version. And since bringing wc to sammi's concert last year, he has been won over by her strong vocals! So he's officially a Sammi's fan like me now! haha..so we shared resources to buy this DVD that costs $50+.

Home sweet home. I think i look better when going home. This shows that shopping really does wonders. Haha. In case you think that i'm those rich spoilt gal who spends money like water, rest assured that i usually only splurge on my payday. I do give almost one-third of my pay to my mum, repay monthly installment of my tuition fees loan and save a fixed amount every month. Heh one thing good about being a teacher is that we save quite alot on food since my lunch everyday only cost at most $1.50 and rarely exceeds $2. I do save quite abit on transport too cos e school is only 3 bus stops away from my house and sometimes i walk home. That gives me extra cash to spend during the weekends!

Alright, gotta go type my ERB and mark that stack of Maths WB now. Hee cos e sooner i finish it, e sooner i can go wc's house to watch Sammi's dvd since his father just bought a new plasma tv and hi-fi set. So, that should be perfect for watching a concert dvd! Ciao!

*P/s: Why does it seem like i the only one updating on this blog. Sisters! Where are all of you??? N ivan hwuang, can you join our sisters-club n update on this blog also? Get e password from us if u do not have n update here also la!

Who can find me a mic?
Besides my form class, i still have to take 2 P1 classes for Social Studies, P6-D plus half of P6-F for Health Ed and Social Studies. Alright, sounds normal tilll now. But! e "abnormal" part comes when all the D-classes in the school are e low ability students. Alright, still acceptable. But wait! E worse has yet to come. The blow came when I saw e words "P6-F" on my timetable sheet!

P6-F class = EM3 pupils

The only thing going on in my mind was "Why am I so unlucky!". Well, not that i discriminate against them, but rather i have no confidence at all teaching an EM3 class. And these classes normally consist of those big-sized boys who can talk so loudly and perhaps, talk back at you. That, against a small-sized young teacher who is still learning to project my voice in the classroom and has not received any official training in teaching at all. Still, i told myself not to be bias against them, it may not be as bad as i thought.

Then, thurs came when i went to that class for the first time. True enough, they dun really care who is this person standing in front of them, trying to shout out every single word on top of all their chit-chatting. Perhaps the only time when they get a little quieter was when i told them my "life story". From taking my PSLE till how i got into uni. Since that was the last period, i gotta bring them down to dismiss them. That was the ultimate. They were all over the place and nobody bothers to look at this stupid teacher trying to tell them to line up in twos. N stupid me brought them walk through the route that passes by the HOD office. And one HOD passes by. Shrugs. I swear i'm never going to bring them walk that route from next week onwards. I was so exhausted by this period and i have to go to my 2-Faith class straightaway after this. So much so that i gotta tell all of them to be good boys and girls for at least e first 2 periods cos my throat hurts n i'm losing my voice.

Then Friday came. I'm so gonna dread Friday for this half a year cos i got 2 freaking periods with them! I gotta say the 6-D pupils were generally ok. They were willing to pay attention to listen when i teach. So the culprits were the 6-F pupils. They were sitting at the back and talking so loudly as though it was a marketplace. So whenever i ask a question, i gotta repeat for god-knows-how-many-times cos all of them will be going "Har teacher what you say???" Nobody knows how i heaved such a HUGE sign of relief when i walked out of the class. Can you imagine this is only week 1???

I'm so gonna dread thurdays and fridays every week from now till June. Every single teacher on hearing that i'm teaching that EM3 class gave me the "Oh-my-god-you-are-so-damn-suay-and-luckily-i-am-not-the-suay-one" look. I'm in desperate need of a mic before i lose my voice every thurs and fri. Anyone who knows where to buy that please come and tell me. You will be my saviour!

Monday bluesssss
Well, today lessons started. So far so good...though some of them are beginning to show their true colours. These kids can talk and talk non-stop n every now n then i've to stop the lesson for them. I'm gonna be stricter with them from now on! Anyway had a great Saturday cause my sis treated my mum n I to Sushi Tei! (Well, she ought to since she received 2.5 months of bonus and had just finished repaying her tuition fees loan!)

Alright, let the pictures do the talking!

I dun look like my mum at all, do I?

Neither do my sis look like my mum. imo. heh

All the dishes are yummy! Especially my favourite salmon sushi, ebi tempura, salmon salad top with citrus dressing, unagi wrapped with egg! Slurps.

But nothing can beat this. It has a perfect combination of unagi with ebi topped with slices of avocado. Perfect is the word. =)

A great dessert to end off a great meal. (though we were all too full by then) I heart Sushi Tei. The food is good and the ambience is great. No wonder Fann Wong and her sweetheart Lee always patronize the outlet at Paragon heh.

The good news is...I've set my mind to patronize Sushi Tei again this Sat! Hee cause Sat is the 12th...which means Sat is payday! At least there's something for me to look forward to now throughout the draggy week. =)

After the great meal was shopping time! My loots of the day include:
1) Body Shop Strawberry Polish and Strawberry Shower Gel. I'm so gonna smell strawberry-ish.

2) Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum

3) Body Shop guava shade of lipstick. (I was coax to buy this cause my mum insisted that I'll look good in that shade "^_^)

4) Body Shop Neck Gel

The above 4 cant really be counted as my loots cause my sis paid for them all. Long story as to why we brought so many products even though initially my sis only wanted to buy the neck gel. Thats the "trouble" of having their Rewards Card. Hee but i'm not complaining here cause I get to use all of these products also! =)

5) Espirit 3quarts jeans and a T-shirt. (Worth the buy since its the Sale period and my sis is a member with them. That means i get additional 20% off e items. =)

6)
No discount for these but its essential. Having to stand for 3/4 of the day means i've to get a pair of really "good" shoes. In the end i brought 2 pairs. Urps. Hope they will make my money well-spent.

Shopping makes me, or rather all girls happy. But, its back to square one on Sunday cause i've to type my ERB. In short, lesson plans for the whole week and its compulsory cause it has to be submitted to the P to check. So in reality, teachers only get 1 day of rest every week. N this is for people like me who has a relatively lighter load. Imagine those HODs or teachers heavily involved in other projects. Hee like i told wc, i dun wish to climb up that ladder or sit in the HOD room one day cause that would mean endless piles of work and stress. My ultimate aim is to be a small fry whereby "my existence can be felt but it wouldn't hurt when i'm non-existent". (If u get what i'm saying heh) Did i heard people calling me "胸无大志”? Haha

Anyway back to ERB. Its been 2 months since i wrote my ERB and i just couldn't get my momentum back. I sat in front of my computer since 12pm and i only finished typing my ERB at 630pm when in the past i can finish it in 2 hours time. Half the time, i was busy surfing net. Opps. On a more positive note, it also meant that i'm really cracking my brains as to how to make my lessons more lively and interesting right? Excuses....excuses! "^_^

So in the end, could only meet wc for dinner.

The weather was great. Cool and breezy. Followed by a not-so-nice dinner at...

His food was great...

But not mine...

Ending off with wc's picture of the week.

He insists its a masterpiece. As compared to my version of it...

You be the judge. =)

Day 2 - Survived
Hee okie day 2 was better since i din do as much talking and my kids can really take good care of their buddies well. Except for this particular boy, keefe, who refuses to buy anything to eat n my poor boy, Aalden, got to chase keefe around n couldn't have his food cause the rule is - P2 pupils must wait for the P1s to buy their food before they can start eating their own food. So in the end i got to ask Aalden to go eat his food while i bring keefe around, asking him repeatedly, "What do u want to eat? Nasi lemak? fishball noodles? fried rice? fries? mee rebus? biscuits?....." Luckily, before i can tell him to juz sit down n drink his plain water, his mother came. 6 more days of asking "keefe, what do u want to eat?" at 315pm everyday from now.

After that, finally got my 3 periods of break. So as i was resting, i took pics of my workstation before it gets more messy as the term goes by.

My desk. I love my desk cause its located at e corner of the staff room. I like isolation!

Many more piles of worksheets n workbooks to come.

Teacher's essential

6 groups = 6 colour tapes

My essential toolkit to keep all my barangs as i go for classes everyday.

Permission passes to be hang round their neck when they go out of the classroom. Look at how the office people spell my name. But since i'm only going to be there for 1 year, i decided to just leave it as it is.

My LM (level manager) was so sweet. Went to make these stickers-name tags for all e P2 teachers. So all my things now are pasted with these stickers. =)

Good work cards to be given to students who did well in their tests or work.

Another Teacher's essential, especially when u're teaching a lower primary class. I always get very excited when i see Pasar Malam cause i can get plently of stickers that are selling at 12 for $1 (small pieces) or 4 for $1 (bigger pieces). Haha yes i'm a cheapo teacher!

Alright thats all folks. Will try to take some pics of my classroom to show u guys next time. =) N its Friday tmr! =)

hey ple!

I guess that i am always so late in my post. haha... well.. better late than never.. it's amazing how jiahui managed to portray the blog as feminine yet with a feisty punch to it. great job sister! =) anyway... with regards to your darn neighbours, u shd gather all ur other neighbours to write a petition and post it to the town council, i tink it shd work much better than a solo effort on ur own? hahaaha...if not, mayb u can try taking ur pots and pans and clank clank* outside ur neighbour's apartment.. beat the noise with more noise?! hahah... not too sure if it will have a reverse effect yeah.

Oh well... anyway.. zinc and wanyi.. the concert sounds pretty smashing! glad u guys had fun though having gone thru all that trouble to get to the venue and all. heh. it's though i am not a fan of that fish, i m sure i will go bonkers and as high as u guys did if it's my ah lun concert! pity i din manage to get my hands on his upcoming one! poutz*

anyway... happie new year ! i spent my entire day tidying up my room and i painted the house! eh... well... it's just a fraction of A wall but... it's a tiring job man! hated the fact that depsite i spent hours on the darn wall.. the painting still looks uneven... but not to blame me... it's the darn roller's fault.. apparently the coats of paint have decided to dry up and form an additional layer such that it becomes uneven now. pukez! dunno if i can complete painting before cny! sigh... any ideas how i can paint the wall, other than to engage a professional painter? hahaha...

btw, how do i let my fonts turn out in orange?

Fun-less New Year
Happy New Year to all! Hope u guys had great fun for the past few days...unlike poor me...=(

Since last thurs, yours truly have been preparing for the start of school on 2nd Jan.
Chores include:
1) Decorating class notice boards n classrooms to create a "conducive environment" for the students when they come back to school (quoting my P, Mrs xxxx)

2) SHIFTING the class tables to my desired layout. Good exercise indeed cause i really sweat like hell shifting all the 40 tables and chairs all by myself. Perfect. But a worthy point to note was that I'm sharing my classroom w P4-Faith and e form t. is non other than the HOD of Sc. Prior to that I din have much contact w her n she seems like a really "dao" person as all the rest of the HxOxDs are. But it turned out that she was a really nice person, even allowing me to shift all the tables in any manner/layout that i want. Thank God for that cos its really difficult to come to a compromise with a class that have 40pupils compared to my 30 pupils.

3) Preparing the classrooms like pasting all the different symbols in the class. Lets see, there is
4)Cracking my "already-not-alot-but-you-still-wanna-squeeze-my-limited
-creative-brain-juices-out-of-me" to think of a theme to decorate the Maths Dept notice board. When e level-head of Maths (LH) who happens to be my reporting officer also told me that I've to do it by this Fri, my mind juz went blank cos i've absolutely no idea how to go about doing it. Luckily, i've a bf who has nothing but plenty of creative juices in his brain. So with his help after I contributed the main theme of making a "calculator-liked" chart since this year the P5s are having a new syllabus that is inclusive of calculators, we managed to finish it off.

So when did we do that? Tata...on a New Year's Eve night! After he came over to my house to have bbq, we retreated into my room n started working on it. Yes, no prizes for guessing it correctly... we countdown to 2008 while doing that sxxxxx chart! How pathetic is my way of celebrating a new year. Well, guess i can take comfort from the fact that the chart was a pretty good job done n I pin it up on the notice board the first thing i went to school today.

5) New Year's day- spent at home n facing the computer screen for 6hrs straight doing up my welcome ppt/classroom matters ppt

6)Today=First day of school
7) 3/1/2008
Alright. Time check: 1215am. That will explains y i need to go off now. I want my weekends!

29th Dec 07, Fish Leong's Concert Review :p
Okay..I know this entry came a bit late, (wanyi stop complaining that I’m slow la.. )All good things are always worth the wait right?

Anyway, went to Fish Leong’s concert with Wanyi last sat at the Spore indoor Stadium. It was our first concert. Well, I would say that it’s a memorable one, though there isn’t any “jin bao” moves from Fish as expected, at least we get to hear her sing “live” which I would say is a “xiang shou” cos she sounded just like the CD! Other than that there were quite a number of funny things that happened to us. (wa.. wanyi u very clever hor, wrote less then 100 words, then want me to do a detailed write-up… next time ur turn to write ahh…)

Hiccup 1:
- We boarded the train leading us to Kallang at abt 6 plus and were happily chitchatting away throughout the journey. Little did we realized that we had missed our station until when that the train was going thru the tunnel on its way to the next station “ BEDOK” OH My God, we missed 5 stations!!! It’s already 7.26 pm, 30 more mins before the concert will start! Oh No! “Fish Wait For Us!

Hiccup 2:
- We finally arrived at Kallang MRT station at 7.42pm and went around frantically searching for the bus no 11, which we will told that will bring us into SIS. As it was already 7 plus, the sky was so dark and bus 11 was no way to be seen. We were so desperate and started looking around for pple who are wearing red, thinking that they might be from fish leong’s fanclub. Then, we spotted a group of pple in red queuing up. So we joined the queue, not knowing what the pple are queuing for. Hehehe…typical sporean hor. But in the end, we took a cab. The taxi uncle was rather friendly and fetched us safely to our destination.

Hiccup 3:
- When we arrived the SIS, we realized that we aren’t that late afterall. There were still lotsa pple looking around for their seats. And guess what, we were then told by the ushers that our seats have been upgraded to the ground floor! Can u believe it? They were actually $138 seats! But the only minus pt------- the pple who were sitted in our area were “not high at all” aka “unhigh pple”. They all had this “its free, so I come loh” look. An old couple I think in their mid 50s sat beside me and throughout the concert, I felt kinda uncomfortable cos its like sitting beside 2 zombies who doesn’t move and got no expression. Can u imagine? As for wanyi, she could sense that the lady who was sitting beside her was drifting further away from her for some unknown reason. Must be becos wanyi did some funny things that scared her off la..Hahaha…

Hiccup 4:
The concert was great and like what wanyi said, the sound system can blast our ears off. I especially like the part when the Special Guest, Ah Xing sang one of his Mayday song “wen rou”( ”Wow, his voice is powerful! ) and luv it when fish sang some of sandy lam’s song unplugged. The whole concert ended at abt 11.30pm.We only manage to get into a cab at 12 plus and by then we were already in “half a piece”, so tired and sleepy.

Here are some photos taken that day! Enjoy! :p ( Not very well taken la…hehehe)
Ps: Woo.. I swear this is the longest entry which I have ever posted.
